Transformative Whisky Tanning Cake

Got a good fan brush handy? Good. You can get that fresh from the Bahamas spring color boost in about 15 seconds by whisking that fan brush with the right kind of bronzer. (Have you seen the Kevyn Aucoin fan?) It. Is. Lush. It’s called The Large Fan Brush an it looks like this, and it makes bronze color so imperceptible I call it the James Bond brush. Sneaky little tools are some of my favorite things in the beauty world.

But the product to beat this season, and the one you want on that fluffy fan brush when it comes to bronzer, is a new discovery that’s along the lines of Nars cult classic bronzer Laguna. In terms of blendability and subtlety on a lighter skin tone (like most of us are sporting in March), though, this bronzer takes the cake, the Tanning Cake – in fact it’s called Diego Dalla Palma Special Tanning Cake. It took me a while to give a try since it doesn’t exactly look like the subtle glow in a box that it is at first glance. It has what looks like quite a bit of the glittery thing going on in the compact. Not so on the face. It turns to glow, not glitter – as it seamlessly buffs into a fresh light face making a soft shadow with healthy glow written all over it.  It’s perfect for bronzing right now, and versatile enough to take you clear through summer. It comes in several shades, but the one to take you from Spring to Summer looking blessed by beach rays is shade 100 which is the one pictured here. Add the sleek Italian lightweight packaging to this unstoppably uber diffusable blend and it’s your own little Ibiza moment, whenever you need it…

I’m popping Diego Dalla Palma Powder Blush in Shade 13, a super happy coral on top and keeping the idea of the beach close at hand, right now.
