So recently, when I went traveling through the high peaks of Colorado, and camping there too, I kept the beauty kit small, pretty darn small. And you know what, I survived, felt good, and didn’t look like old man winter, well-avoiding that post-camping grunge look deal that is NOT what I like about camping>>>>
So here’s the kit I whittled it down to, it fit in a small 8×8 zip kit, and I mean it’s all I took cosmetics-wise, and it worked! My last camping trip involved a cute pink tackle box and it was only one night, so I think I am evolving…
Anyway here’s all I needed:
Deluxe Skincare Samples from GWP’s in the highest hydration formulas I know:
Lierac Hydragenist Serum: Correctly claims oxygenation, replumping, and moisturizing effects. A new favorite way to fight dry air (outdoors in the a/c) or fine lines!
Natura Bisse Diamond Extreme Eye: There’s some definite magic going in with this formula, to keep my puffy eyes at bay and tighten and brighten so consistently, I am now on a Diamond Extreme regimen for the whole face because of the power this wielded towards my eye area. I looked it up and Natura Bisse says “Centella asiatica, calendula, horse chestnut, horsetail and licorice are responsible for the decongestive, draining effect that minimizes under-eye circles and puffiness” – beautiful.
Natura Bisse The Cure: I’ve written on my tried and true no-foundation foundation. It’s full of anti-aging, anti-sun damage (SPF 25), and detoxifying ingredients and the light pigment is entirely even you out and brightens you up in one quick application. After the Diamond Extreme Eye, this worked as concealer as well. One step perfection.
Rodial Instaglam Hyaluronic Cheek Sculpt: This is the perfect pop of uber subtle fresh glow; you can hardly call it color, but it’s super fresh and really tightens and brightens the cheeks.
T Le Clerc Eye Pencil in Noir Onyx (top): Simple rich black for tight lining mostly, creamy yet long lasting, I love this pencil.
T Le Clerc Brow Pencil in 01 Blonde (bottom): a soft but just-enough brown for defined brows that look like yours alone, keeps your face framed without looking overly – done.
Ilia Eyeshadow Pencil in Next to You (top) and Age of Consent (bottom): These pencil make natural smoky/glowy eyes a snap! I’m hooked on using Next to You (an amber rose shade for leaning into pink) and Age of Consent for the easiest sophisticated bronze eye.
Kevyn Aucoin The Eyelash Curler: Opens up eyes with the biggest curls, and easy on the fingers and lashes.
Kevyn Aucoin The Curling Mascara: It’s the best mascara ever, it builds in glorious layers and holds the curl all day long, and this formula does not budge until your wash your face with warm water, then it slides of in little thin layers as easy as you can imagine, protecting your lashes from the usual damage and loss associated with waterproof formulas.
Southern Fringe Lip Liner in Nude: Just looks like your lips got a lot fuller and prettier and perfect long- lasting definition to just finish a natural look ever so softly.
Drunk Elephant Lippe Balm: The closest thing I know to the richness of a pot lip balm in a stick form, I use it abundantly and it works great with just a touch of lip liner for a natural look. Plus it’s all natural and non toxic so now worries that I probably use pounds of it.
Aromatherapy Associates Rollerball in Support Breathe: This wakes me up, decongests, and gives a little lift of energy whenever I need it, especially in the morning.
June Jacobs Lip Renewal SPF 50: One of my biggest skin care regrets now is neglecting lip zone SPF, but anyway if I’m in the sun now, I’m adding a layer of clean SPF like this one from June Jacobs to prevent that sneaky damage on and around the lip area.
Avene Thermal Spring Water: The staple of all travel staples, for cleansing, boosting, setting, cooling, and comforting travel stressed skin and it really makes a difference. In the tent, I did cleansing with this a little cleanser sample and Mia Gorgeous Glow Wipes.
And that’s it…proof that if you take the right products, you don’t have to take loads of products.
